Tae-gu is a mobster who turns down an offer to defect to the rival Bukseong gang. In retaliation, his sister and niece are killed, and after taking bloody revenge on the rival boss, he flees to Jeju Island, where he meets Jae-yeon, a woman with a terminal illness, and her uncle Kuto, an arms dealer.
Four childhood friends grow up side by side: Joon-seok, the group's leader and son of a powerful mob boss; Dong-su, an undertaker's son; Jung-ho, the class clown; and Sang-taek, a model student. As teenagers they share crushes, run-ins with teachers and brawls with rival schools, before their paths start to pull in different directions.
